Warning: The following post is for hardcore internet geeks only. And people who like to laugh at jokes, even though they might not fully understand them.

After years and years of ridiculously inaccurate rankings and flawed methodology, Alexa has finally admitted guilt:

“The New Alexa Rankings”
http://www.alexa.com/site/company/announcement

Talk about taking forever to fix your shit. This was a service that, however much you hated it (most people didn't realize it was so wrong), you would reluctantly glance at for some primitive form of objective internet traffic measurement. My favorite line from their announcement Q&A (I love when people answer their own questions):

My site's ranking has changed. Was it wrong before?
Your ranking wasn't wrong before, but it was different.

Not wrong, DIFFERENT. And I suppose you're not handicapped, you're physically challenged. And those mistakes were because you're slow, not retarded. And that's not a pink shirt with a popped collar you're wearing, it's a red shirt your mom accidentally washed in hot water and ironed the wrong way.

But hey, props for attempting to tackle the tough questions.

It's like Philip Morris succumbing to consumer pressure and trading tobacco for chewing gum in their cigarettes, and then releasing the following Q&A:

My cigarette has changed. Was it wrong before?
Your cigarette wasn't wrong before, but it did cause cancer.

But hey, that's some damn good chewing gum, am I right?!
