Does Viagra Work on Normal, Healthy Men?

Andrei: Does Viagra work on "normal" men?
Caitlyn: I think so.
Andrei: But maybe it does nothing, like taking Tylenol without a headache.
Caitlyn: Out of curiosity, why do you ask?
Andrei: I'm debating it with Maria and I thought you might know.
Caitlyn: Wait, you're debating with a woman about the effects of Viagra and your go-to source is ANOTHER woman?
Andrei: Yeah, why?
Caitlyn: Hahaha, you're the one with the penis, not me.
Andrei: Well the way I see it, you've seen WAY more dick than I have.
Caitlyn: That is true, I have seen a lot of dick.

At first glance you might think this is an easy question to answer, but I think you will find that it is actually extremely hard. Let me start by saying that I do not have erectile dysfunction. However, what I do have are a lot of platonic female friends who are extremely unsatisfied with the sexual performance of their men. In fact, sexual short comings and general performance inability are such common topics discussed with my female friends that it arises more than you would ever imagine.

Viagra poster with man and woman
What did you expect, to see how deep the rabbit-hole goes?
It gets brought up so much that the reason I'm asking the question is because some of these women have actually considered "reverse roofying" their men with Viagra, in order to get their full attention. The very ridiculous mention of such a bold and extreme endeavor had me instantly excited. But would such a thing actually work and how would one ascertain if the man's performance was actually augmented or not?

After getting into an extremely heightened state, I sprung into action and decided to pump every friend I had for information on Viagra usage. The main reason for my only having female friends is because of this exact type of situation. Men simply have too much ego when it comes to this stuff while women, ironically, always seem to rise to the occasion. With male friendships it's usually all about one-up-manship and over-exaggerated performance. Women simply don't get off on over-exaggerated performance; for them it's all about the intimate and honest details, which is why they're extremely open when it comes to sex.

My friends and I started slowly, by laying a solid groundwork for what would eventually turn into an extremely sticky situation. At first we were kind of nervous, but once we set our minds to actually doing it, we were completely enthralled. There were a great deal of intimate logistical details to work out though, in order to make this all come together. I knew that what we were doing would be frowned upon by the average decent person, and frankly, I'm not even sure if it's legal. However, in the interest of sexual experimentation and education, we owed it to the world to make out our best laid plans and see them fulfilled.

Woman's face while having an orgasm
I'm willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that I'm asking in return is your cooperation...
I'm sorry, I just can't keep up all these sex puns. I'm good for at least three paragraphs, which is more than most, but then I need to briefly catch my breath before continuing. No, don't go anywhere, we're not finished here by a long shot. There's still a lot left in me and I'm not done with you yet. By the time I'm actually finished, I guarantee that you'll be the one screaming and begging me to give YOU a break, or maybe even stop altogether.

Seriously though, this is a difficult question to answer. You see, if you give Viagra to a normal man and he's aware of it, then he may perform better simply due to the added boost to his confidence, whether it was a placebo pill or not. If a woman was to reverse roofie her guy, so that he was unaware of the test, then she would be biased when interpreting the sexual results, due to increased or decreased expectations.

What we really need here is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-tiered, reverse-roofie, Viagra fuck test.Environmental conditions also significantly affect the drug's performance according to various Viagra websites. For instance, "Viagra does not work as intended if the patient consumes a high-fat meal before or along with taking the drug. The fat in such a meal can decrease absorption of the medicine from the gastrointestinal tract." Getting your average man to NOT eat a high-fat meal could be just as challenging as it would be for a woman to get a man to bring them to the point where her eyeballs roll into the back of her head.

A little sex tip: John Mayer may be a douchebag, but he was definitely right about one thing: "It's all about geometry. I'm sort of a scientist; it's about being obtuse with an angle. It's sort of this weird up-and-over thing. You gotta think 'up and over.'" Incidentally, this is very good advice since the G-spot is located on the upper (anterior) wall of the vagina about two inches in. To all the men reading this, "You're welcome." To all the women reading this, "You're VERY welcome, but to be fair to your men, try and not think of me during EACH AND EVERY vaginal orgasm you have now, okay?"

Female reproductive anatomy diagramIt's designed to disrupt your input/output carrier signal so we can pinpoint your location.

To add even more complication to the Viagra test, "this medicine facilitates an erection by increasing blood flow to the penis, but it does not act as an aphrodisiac or as an initiator of the erection. A man who is not ‘in the mood' or does not have adequate physical stimulation will not respond with an erection." Seemingly, this answers the question itself, but it actually doesn't address whether or not it would make your average, normal man good for several more rounds due to the increased blood flow to the area. In fact, it actually makes the original question of whether or not it works on a normal man even more poignant, because how could they ever have tested a normal man's reaction in the presence of stimulation? As soon as stimulation was present for the normal man (i.e. in the form of a woman) then their positive reaction couldn't be actually attributed to the drug's effect or not. The only effect that can be accurately assessed is a highly negative one, due to the lack of a woman present. The negative effects of not having a woman have already been well demonstrated, by your average underachieving male, time and time again.

Remember, all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.
What we really need here is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-tiered, reverse-roofie, Viagra fuck test. This type of study would entail a large number of willing male and female volunteers. The study candidates would have to have sex with total strangers repeatedly, in order to accurately assess different performance levels. It is very important that all intercourse be vaginal, in order to not taint our results. Furthermore, detailed anonymous feedback would be required to accurately gauge the quality of the sexual performances.

What better place to find participants who eagerly embrace sex, drug use, education, and anonymous feedback, than the readers of Points in Case? If you are willing to be a part of this groundbreaking study, please leave your detailed information in the comment section below. If selected for participation, you will be immediately contacted and thoroughly screened by one or more of our staff members.

Note: There will be no monetary compensation for participation in this study, because any type of over-compensation always results in poor performance. "Welcome, to the real world..."

Lame (adj) - Weak and ineffectual; unsatisfactory.
That single word actually cracked me up with regards to this article.
Sorry you didn't enjoy it. You think I should try "harder" next time?

Tiffany Taylor's picture

After I finished reading, I knew it wouldn't solicit a positive response from your male readers^^

However, I also feel it won't bring a positive response from female readers, either:/

Informative but not your best comically--You come across as a bit big-headed (though I'm sure you're not).

Andrei Trostel's picture

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it either Tiffany. I'm afraid the danger here is that many people don't realize that there is very little that I write that should actually be taken seriously. Plus if you are not a Matrix fan then a lot of the jokes may have fallen completely flat. (or maybe they just aren't as funny as I thought they were)
I do appreciate your honesty though.
Thank you for the comment.
;-)

wow.. way to steal the fake convo from one of the quotes... creative

Andrei Trostel's picture

Um...I hate to point out the blatantly obvious here, but did it ever occur to you that I was the one who submitted that (very real) convo/quote to PIC? Your first clue probably should have been my name in it.

Uhm, Anon, I think that convo from the quotes was in fact one of Andrei's. :\

I was actually curious about the whole roofie sex test thing. It sounds like... fun.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Haha, Thanks Evie.
Yeah, I haven't met too many women who actually aren't a little curious about the effects and the hilarity of slipping their man a Viagra "on accident." Not exactly an unappealing experiment for all parties involved.
;-)

I was recommended this blog by my cuoisn. I am not sure whether this post is written by him as nobody else know such detailed about my problem. You are wonderful! Thanks!

Andrei Trostel's picture

By your problem, I can only assume you mean chronic masturbation.
I've heard that it can make you blind.

Viagra probably won't help.

Tiffany Taylor's picture

Andrei,

You're right--I can't say I'm big on the Matrix (which could very well explain why I didn't enjoy this column as much as I normally do).

And dont get me wrong--the column wasn't bad by any means! I just didn't enjoy it as much as your other writings.

Don't sweat it at all Tiffany, I have very thick skin. Comedy is totally subjective and what cracks one person up, falls totally flat with another. I appreciate anyone even taking the time to read my silliness.

Gavin Pitt's picture

Andrei,

I've asked around about this. Of the seven male friends who admitted they had tried it out (all of them are under 30, Gay and have no history of sexual dysfunction)- two felt like they could have kept their fuck on for 24 hours without having a break, three felt "kind of energized" but weren't really sure it was doing anything out of the ordinary, one didn't notice any effect one way or the other and one said he ended up with an erection that wouldn't go away no matter what he did and required a doctor's intervention to "deflate". Seems to me like any sexual prowess boostage is probably psychosomatic, and the risk of Priapism is probably not worth it...

(and no, I didn't slip the pills into their food!)

Funny article!

Andrei Trostel's picture

Thank you for your comment Gavin,
Unfortunately, as the study parameters state:
"It is very important that all intercourse be vaginal, in order to not "taint" our results."
Strict adherence to study parameters is a must in order to eliminate the subject ego overload factor. Two men (i.e. two male egos) just throws too many out of control and highly undesirable variables into the equation. Besides, the ultimate goal of this study is to determine if sexually unsatisfied women around the world, have the possibility of acting in their own sexual satisfaction interests, by reverse roofying their men. If you remove the woman's input from the study, it is kind of a moot point.
;-)

Gavin Pitt's picture

Andrei,

Surely a study about male genital response to a male potency drug that stimulates male sexual drive would *benefit* from having more males involved in the study?

If you're seeking female input into what it feels like to get an erection on Viagra, then clearly Fugly Slut has drugged your McDonald's fries again. Do you need me to come by your office and untie you? If she's gagged you like last time, blink twice for yes...

Andrei Trostel's picture

Gavin,
As stated above in the study outline, this study is about gauging whether or not Viagra has an effect on the normal ability of a man to satisfy a woman. The woman's critiques therefore are extremely important since the study is double blind and thus they will have no idea who got Viagra and who just got a placebo. (Ladies, making it triple blind by you being blind folded is up to you, if you are into that sort of thing) Sorry Gavin, strict study rules have to be followed here and there will be NO tainting of results.

As far as Fugly goes, she is currently busy "harvesting botox from the backyard dairy cow." I didn't have the heart to tell her it comes from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, but I think I am safe for now.

Thanks again Nicholas Furini and welcome to the PIC Viagra study!

Yes, Viagra works on Normal males.
The bad news is, it turns abnormal males into Zombies.

Andrei Trostel's picture

I still fail to see how anyone could make that claim without the above mentioned study. One could just "think" it is working and then the enhancement question is still up in the air.
The zombie thing would kind of make rigamortis a redundancy, wouldn't it?
;)

Gavin Pitt's picture

Hmmph! Well keep your breeder science experiment! I'll just be over here having angst and worry free erections with the rest of the gay guys on campus *g*

Huh? Fugly doesn't have a dairy cow... I just asked her to look after my prized, Derby-winning stalli...oh god, Zapper!

Im not sure how this study could deduce any conclusive results seeing as both male and female responses are largely subjective and individualised. Then again, Im sure you've figured a way around this.

.....Curious, I am..

Good luck and hope to read your findings in the near future! It sure sounds like one of the few fun studies for those participating :D

Andrei Trostel's picture

This is actually a really good question, thank you for asking.
This study will focus on a number of factors both objective and subjective. Detailed intercourse scale/score surveys and questionnaires will be completed immediately after each copulation. While this might seem subjective at first, let me point out that all clinical trials involving pain medications utilized individual (and highly subjective) pain severity scales in the exact same fashion. These scales are on a self-report, observational (behavioral), or physiological data basis. The subjects will assign a score regarding a number of criteria including but not limited to, severity or intensity of the sexual experience, degree of pleasure experienced, overall satisfaction level and specifically repeated rating of their partners. (kind of like a before and after treatment study)

There are also a number of scientific physiological yet noninvasive ways to measure blood flow to the penis before and after treatment such as penile plethysmography (PPG) also called "phallometry".
PPG is done one of two ways, either by:

* Volumetric air chamber: When this is placed over the subject's penis, as tumescence increases, the air displaced is measured. (not very useful in this study since we will focus mainly on female gratification, not air chamber gratification)

or

* Circumferential transducer: This uses a mercury-in-rubber or indium/gallium-in-rubber ring strain gauge and is placed around the shaft of the subject's penis to measure changes in circumference.

This study will utilize the Circumferential transducer fitted to the ring of the condom since all intercourse will obviously be protected to ensure the safety of our participants.

However, the main bulk of the data will come from the woman's satisfaction level feedback under the different treatment conditions. Therefore it is statistically important that we have a high "n" value for our study (i.e. number of subjects) in order to obtain meaningful results. So sign up today and be a part of this ground breaking sexual study!

Thanks again for the great question, I hope that answer satisfied your every need.

I am a straight and fairly normal male. I tried Viagra just for fun. Sure it works, but it messed up my vision for a few hours (everything had an orange tint) and gave me the worst acid indigestion ever. Great story AT.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Thank you for your interest Casey.
It is important to note that in this study the drug will be taken orally and not through ocular drug delivery methods.

;-)

Ok I have tried it and yes it does have an effect. The most evident is the fact that I keep a boner after I have had an orgasm (this just dont happen to me normally). The problem is that I am a guy and my interest tends to fade a bit and she notices that and this can kill her over all mood. BUT it causes random erections though out the next day (50mg pill) that are difficult to get go away and an annoying blue tint to my vision that last for about 2 hours after taking the pill.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Hmmm Again, it is important to note that in this study the drug will be taken orally and NOT through ocular drug delivery methods.

Thank you though for clarifying that you are a guy in your comment which was helpful, especially after you stated that you keep a boner after you have an orgasm.

Sounds like a great idea. So are you pairing the people up randomly? Because there has to be some kind of physical attraction between testees to make sure it works, otherwise the male won't get an erection. And where would these sex marathons be taking place? Now I suppose some review about the article writing. At first I was skeptical because of the blatantly, over used sexual puns but once it was clear it was done purposefully it was enjoyable. Keep them up.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Thank you Seamus O'Shea for your support of this study.
After careful consideration we decided that sexual partners would be paired up BOTH randomly and based on physical attraction, to better emulate a real world scenario. I mean let's face it, sometimes a lack of physical attraction isn't enough to stop people from having sex regardless.

As far as location we decided to leave that a roaming variable in order to make it easier on our constantly growing testees pool.

I'm glad you enjoyed the writing style. I think it is extremely important to keep a fun and extremely enjoyable environment for our testees.

Let's talk about multiculturalism for a minute.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Haha, O.k. Missy lets talk about it.
I'm ALL for it 100%.
Are you looking to ad a multiculturalism element to this study?

Yes, definitely works on healthy men!
I do not have ED, but have used Viagara and during those intimate encounters, my erections were harder, more sustainable, and I would regain erections quicker (within minutes) after ejaculating, providing multiple climaxes for both me and my lady in the same afternoon or night. Intimate settings with and without are tremendous differences with the same lady.

Andrei Trostel's picture

I'm sorry but we require an unbiased and scientific evaluation of this phenomenon from both you AND more specifically from your lady. Both of you should create profiles and join the PIC randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-tiered, reverse-roofie, Viagra fuck test.

We look forward to hearing from you.

The answer is yes, Viagra will sustain an erection in healthy men. "Erectile dysfunction" is kind of an ambiguous disorder anyway, with causes often being more psychological than physiological. Viagra works by inhibiting an enzyme called PDE5 (as well as unintentionally inhibiting other enzymes in the PDE family, which cause undesirable peripheral effects like blue-haloed vision and rare bouts of temporary hearing loss). PDE5 is responsible for metabolizing cyclic GMP, a secondary messenger that causes smooth muscle relaxation and allows blood to fill the penis. When PDE5 is inhibited, cGMP is allowed to proliferate in the penis and produces an extended erection in healthy men as well as ones with ED. Viagra will not produce an erection on its own -- the man must first be stimulated, causing an endogenous release of nitric oxide and consequently release of the aforementioned cGMP.

If you don't believe me, you can find it all on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sildenafil#Mechanism_of_action

Andrei Trostel's picture

The absolute best part about this comment is that you are citing Wikipedia for medical "facts" which should be enough of a reason to question it's validity. I'll play along though,

"Studies on the effects of viagra when used recreationally are limited, but suggest that it has little effect when used by those not suffering from erectile dysfunction. In one study, a 25 mg dose was shown to cause no significant change in erectile quality, but did reduce the post-ejaculatory refractory time. This study also noted a significant placebo effect in the control group."

If you don't believe me, you can find it all on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sildenafil#Mechanism_of_action

(You will note that the Wikipedia link is the EXACT same link that you posted).

this is very shortsighted. perhaps the idea is very far away. perhaps other things are short, and that makes the idea so puny. writing a very long article is some sort of compensation for other short things. you should always avoid to be compared with your work, if your work is big or long.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Sorry for the late reply Marcel, it seems Gmail's spam filter keeps weeding out comments from this article. Can't imagine why?! Haha!

O.k. so you are saying that overstating an idea is over compensation for something? Hmmm that's interesting, especially given the redundancy of every single sentence of your comment.

I quit reading the article and the comments after the initial frustration.
All you need to do is to google "A letter of appreciation for Phizer" and you are set.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Anyone with THAT much "initial frustration" probably isn't a good candidate for this study anyway. We are looking for participants who are willing to put themselves into something, maybe even really get behind it full force. Your tiny little attention span definitely seems more suited to googling for vaginal appreciation.

According to my knowledge viagra is for erectile dysfuntion and not for normal healthy man. It also creates some dangerous side effects like heart failure, heart attack, seizures ,etc. Finally don't take viagra until unless you need them

Hi fellow fuckers , I have been using Cialis now for about 5 years it lasts for a lot longer than Viagra.
I'm 67 and still love a good fuck, they come about 2 0ut of 6 times for various reasons.
I started with Viagra 13 years ago as I found the little bugger would let me down at odd times and take up to an hour to rebound for a double dipping.
I now have 3 other girls as well as my wife to please but i still only get it on one time a week.
To answer the question dose it help a normal fertile guy, I belive yes , as i started using Viagra when I was still able to get an erection with ease.
I found it just made erections easy to get just by thinking about pussy.
I'm bi now and thats another bonus worth thinking about. (but on butts ) oral only.
Like girls , guys know instinctly how to please another guy.
Well thats my bit, never to late for a happy childhood.

Andrei Trostel's picture

Please note that while this anecdote is appreciated, it doesn't conclusively prove that Viagra works on Normal, Healthy men. Aside from the fact that normal people would most certainly reduce the fraction of 2 out of 6 to its lowest terms of 1 out of 3, there is also some highly conflicting information here. The following two statements are at odds with each other and thus I encourage everyone to sign up for the PIC randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-tiered, reverse-roofie, Viagra fuck test if they want solid scientific evidence to the question.

"I started with Viagra 13 years ago as I found the little bugger would let me down at odd times..."
