Wikipedia: This Is Why I Love It!
Posted April 16th, 2008 by J.B. Hour
God I love Wikipedia. I spend hours reading it sometimes. Do you know the entire history of Dr. Pepper? I do! One of the reasons I love Wikipedia is because anybody can modify it, for any reason, at any time. Now, they have editors who review every edit, but it usually takes them a few days to catch them. Sometimes I see them before they catch it, and sometimes I edit Wikipedia articles myself when I'm bored. I make outrageous claims and laugh at them until they catch the absurdity and undo my changes.
Below is a funny one I caught in the Martin Van Buren article, and the other is one I made myself a while ago. Click to enlarge.

You have way too much time on your hands. I'm envious
When I get bored in class I write wikipedia entries about the people sitting around me.
Kasey,
That's fucking epic if you ask me!
In 2006 I added myself to Wikipedia, but they removed me the next day citing I had no relevance. Well fuck them. Ever since, I've made it my personal goal to make it onto Wikipedia just to prove those elitist assholes wrong.
We'll see who has relevance my friends. We'll see.
Hilarious JB. Even though it is a cheap way of updating a blog, I'd love to see more wikipedia updates.
Of course you have to be clever about it. Sneak it in a long bit of text and make about 20 other corrections along with it (structuring, re-arranging, and grammar corrections). Make it humorous of course, in a deadpan "mof" delivery, like van Buren being the longest living human being.
About the other thing, I think if you make pages about every PIC writer and have them linked from PIC's wiki (if there is one), you might finally have your relevance.
