DUI Defense Dream Comes True!

Hello,

I have been doing some research on the net and I found your site through Google. I noticed that your site and my site compliment each other fairly well and I was wondering if you do link exchanges?

My web guy has told me that getting reciprocal links is a good way to help with web traffic and to get both of our sites noticed. He told me that I should find complimenting sites and email the webmaster to see if that can be setup.

I am pretty new at this but he gave me some code that I guess you are supposed to paste on your links page. Here is what he gave me:

[a href="http://www.dui-defense-law.com"]Dui Defense[/a]

If you could provide me with your code I can have him paste it up immediately on my links page.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this link exchange.

Sincerely,

Kristi K. Miller

Normally I don't do much with these random link exchange requests, but since my first job ever was copy-coffee-bitch at one of the top DUI defense law firms in the Southeast, I felt like this almost could've been a job I was assigned back when I was a wee 17-year-old lad. I immediately felt it was my duty to send a warm, meaningful reply:

Kristi,

I find it funny that you emailed ME, the webmaster of a college humor site, to exchange links with a DUI DEFENSE WEBSITE. I'm interested in knowing what sort of "complimentary" aspects you found between our sites. Do you drink and drive as well? I know a lot of us college students do!

Moving along to the actual comparable content of our sites, I was going to compliment you on your site, but it only contains two paragraphs. Unfortunately, we have almost 5 years of daily written content. Since the typing speed of our writers combined hovers just above 3,000 words per minute, at an average of 65 words per paragraph, and a rate of just 15 minutes of writing per day for 344 days a year (3 weeks vacation), PointsinCase.com contains over 1.3 million paragraphs. Normally though, I end up working about 45 minutes per day, so you know, it could be a little higher. Again, I don't see how our content is "complimented" fairly.

But ya know what? Since I'm pretty old at this, and after all, I guess I AM obligated to paste your code up, IT'S A DEAL!

Sincerely,

Court Sullivan, Esq.

Irreverant? Slightly.

Awesome? Hells, yeah.

From a marketing perspective, her request may be a double-edged ploy -

Satire draws attention she may never have recieved...all the while portraying her as either a clueless copy-queen or a devious e-marketing mastermind.

Yeah, gonna go with the former too.

Does this mean I have to stop drinking and driving?

Court, you're so brilliant. and I'm so pitifully inadequate. I would have just said "Did you even look at my [expletive] site, you [multiple expletives]?"

I believe people are stupid to ask for link exchanges without knowing if the other persons blog has any visits. If the other person does not have any visits it would be stupid to exchange visits. Now take this blog I'm commenting on. It does not have content that would be suitable for people who visit my blog and vice versa. So the people who visit my blog would not visit this blog if they find its link on my blog. I've atleast a 100 links on my blog. They tell me that they get no visits from my blog. But it does not cost me any thing to have them linked on my blog. I put up a few links on my blog on a day I've time.
