My sense of humor can be summarized with one joke:
Q: Why does 6 hate 7?
A: Because 7 8 out 9.

Few people remember Fly to the Angles, good call. Do you consider Feels Like the First Time a ballad?
This guy is an idiot. Two of those songs are not even from the 80's. They're all good songs.
But this guy needs to do some research.
Not a ballad by any means, but True Men Don't Kill Coyotes by the red hot chili peppers was a kick ass eighties song
You really think Knockin' on Heaven's Door is one of the best '80s ballads?...and by GnR none the less? Bob Dylan is crying right now. I would have gone with something Bon Jovi-esque?
Overall great list though.
Good story about I Want To Know What Love Is: Me and 4 friends are riding back from a high school basketball game a few years back. It's a long roadtrip and we lost, so it was silent in the car. That song came on and no one showed a reaction until the first courus, when every one of us spontaneously broke in to song. Possibly the most entertaining moment of my life.
Dude i love the song and all, but keeping with the 80's power ballads topic i think you should know that more than a feeling is actually a song from the mid 70's.
But its still a great fucking song
My two favorites from your list: #9 and #2. Memories of making out under the bleachers to I Want To Know What Love Is at a dance way back when. Did I just admit that I'm old?
Anonymous, that's an interesting story and 80s music does that to people...it brings them together. heh.
Rob, you caught me. I know Boston was from a bit earlier of an age, yet...the song can't be denied...it had to make the list.
Jules, we already knew that you're old. =P
I don't play the vast majority of those songs but whenever they come on, you do tend to start singing along to them.
The Eighties for me, music wise, is all about bands like The Cure, The Smiths, Happy Mondays, Joy Division, Siouxsie & The Banshees. Oh, and metal.
Guns N' Roses were a pure, stone-cold rockin' group, but 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door' not only had the single WORST example of rock vocals EVER, but it desecrated Dylan's legacy with how bad it was and is.
Good to know the list isn't a total loss 'cause Boston is on there.
