Spoofity Doof

Well, the folks at Chevrolet have finally done it. By putting that stupid "Our Country" song/commercial on during every sporting event in America, they have jammed their message into my brain. So, I had to undue their bullshit propaganda by changing the lyrics (since there is no way in hell I'll get the tune out of my head). Anyway, here is my spoof of the John Mellencamp song, "Our Country".

Our Chevy
By Nathan DeGraaf
(Special thanks to John Mellencamp, John Cougar, John Cougar Mellencamp and Chevy)

Well I can stand beside
Ideas that make a buck
And I can stand beside
The idea of selling trucks
And I do believe
There are machines for everyone
This is our Chevy.

There's room enough here
For more trucks on the road
And there's room enough here
For me to build a huge home
And try to make demands
For all the money in this land
This is our Chevy.

From my summer home
To my winter home
Life's a limousine ride
Away,
This is our Chevy.

That Chevrolet will be
Not just another thing
And Chevrolet would be
Seen only as a dream
And the great trucks on this land
Increase the fuel demand
This is our Chevy.

The dream is still alive
Some day it will come true
And these new trucks they do belong
To folks who pay their dues
So let the voice of methane
Sing out through this land
This is our Chevy.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
From my summer home
To my winter home
Life's a limousine ride
Away,
This is our Chevy.

Seriously, those commercials make me want to hate America.

Random question for you and all commenters: If LaDainian Tomlinson were to retire today, would he be a Hall of Famer? I say yes, because even though he's been in the league for 5 1/2 years, he's been either the best back or top 3 back every year. Thoughts?

there is no way he would be in the hall of fame. TIki Barber has been one of the best backs each of the last few years as well and hes played for 10 years and it is doubtful that he will be a hall of famer. You need a good 12 seasons to make the hall.

Hall of Fame running backs that did not play 12 years (I know they're all relatively unknown, but you may have heard of one these guys):

Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, Gale Sayers, Eric Dickerson, Paul Hornung, O.J. Simpson.

And that Chevy song is definitely cringe-worthy.

Aight. You have me there. BUT Do you honestly believe that LT deserves to be said with those names? A Player that dominates like LT and dominates like Barry Sanders are very different. LT could not be in the hall of fame the same way as Barry or Brown or any of them.

Not yet. Another three years of this kind of production though... I think he could get to that level (a championship in San Diego would help a lot too) but you're right, he's not there yet.
