helicopter.jpgWhy is it that people always hunch over when they approach or exit a helicopter? Do they think they're going to get decapitated? Because I've never heard of a single person hitting their head on a helicopter blade. Not even a nick, or a buzz cut. It's not like Shaq forgetting to duck under a door entrance. Notice though, that nobody ever ducks down for a motionless helicopter blade. (Don't ask me why I know so much about helicopter transportation.)

Speaking of helicopters, why do so many helicopters have no doors? I can understand why the UPS truck forgoes the doors, but most people probably aren't getting in and out of a helicopter very often unless they're stupid, suicidal, or Sylvester Stallone in Cliffhanger.

Hmm, I'm kind of enjoying this whole helicopter thing.

Do you think helicopters have really sharp blades? Because it seems like that would be overkill. You've already got huge metal pieces that can easily move around fast enough to chop any limb off your body, do they really need to be dangerous when they're sitting still too? Then again, you won't ever hit your head on them, so unless you're standing around the hangar slicing some tomatoes on a step ladder or something, it probably wouldn't make a difference.

Speaking of which, has there been a movie yet where an oversized superhero takes a blade off a helicopter and uses it as a weapon or a paring knife? The Incredible Hulk maybe?

Why haven't they combined the helicopter with more forms of transportation yet? They have planes that can float on water, boats that can drive on land, surfboards with sails, railroads under water, etc. etc. What does the helicopter have? Nothing. I want to start seeing rotating blades on more things. Why shouldn't a boat be able to lift off straight up from the water? Or a rollerblader have blades on his head too?

For a second, I started wondering why we couldn't have helicopters with the blades on the bottom. Then I remembered those are called lawnmowers.

Ahh man, my head is spinning.
