Avery Bargar is a Brooklyn based comedy writer, performer and teacher. His writing has been published in Points In Case, The Weekly Humorist and The Boston Globe. Originally from the Puritan North, he defected from his beloved sports obsessed hometown of Boston in 2018. He hopes to die there one day, but recent experience says he might die in New York. Avery loves The Rutles, Jim Croce, The Beatles, Nichols and May, Second City, baked goods, cats, and dogs that look like they could be a person in a dog costume. He has been an actor, musician, songwriter, theatre teacher, caterer, and a has-been. Confusingly, he also goes by Avery Nelson.
