Well you can call him Tony Edwards
You can call him Dr. Greene.
He’s played a lot of characters
In many different scenes.

He was that kid from Gotcha,
Rode a horse in El Diablo,
He got Revenge as Gilbert
(and in doing so, hit pay dirt).
But goodness gracious,
You know how I see,
There just ain’t no denying,
He’ll always be Goose to me.

Well Maverick was the wild card,
But Cougar tossed his wings,
So they sent these two young retards
To chase after their dreams.

Ole’ Goose he was the voice
Of reason and of trust.
He lost that loving feeling
That to him meant so much.

And he propped up that middle finger
In the Air Space Neutral Zone.
He took the Polaroid picture
That set the movie’s tone.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I hate it when it does that.”

“The list is long and distinguished.”

“Come on Mav, for me.”

“Mother Goose, you mother fucker!”

He was the perfect sidekick,
With his life, his wife and child.
But man did he love flying
Didn’t matter when, how or why.

And he was shot into the sky,
Left a young Meg Ryan behind
While Maverick desperately cried
Of course, on the inside.

Yes ole’ Tony’s been the man
In High School USA.
And in El Diablo
He was known as Billy Ray.
And he was Dr. Greene
In all those ER scenes,
But no matter what he does
Where he goes
Or who he loves,
He’ll always be Goose to me.

Call him the Goose Man
(whicky whicky whicky)
Call him the Goose Man
(what you got?)
‘Cause you know he’s the Goose Man
(whicky whicky whicky)

And he’ll always be Goose,
Yes he’ll always be Goose,
You know he’ll always be Goose
To me.
To me.
Yes he’ll always be Goose to me.

Call him the Goose Man.
