The Invisible Man

As I walked down the street today I saw a sign in a furniture store or maybe a coffee shop (either or, the place was empty) that said "Invisible Man Reading."

Now, H.G. Wells is one of my favorite authors and I'm sure Ralph Ellisons' "Invisible Man" is super-popular now since we have our first half-white president.

But that's not what I looked for. I pressed my face against the glass scanning the room for a floating book, glasses or monocle. When the clerk lady finally came up to me and asked, "Why are you getting face oil all over my window?"

I smacked myself in the head and said, "I was looking for the Invisible Man." Then I walked away wondering why I thought I could see somebody invisible. And how I can get a degree in common sense.
