If you can get out the door of a Wal-Mart you are home free for the most part. Well, that was their policy 7 or 8 years ago. I actually got put on "probation" for catching a shoplifter just before he got out of the parking lot. Long story short, the store manager freaked when he walked up to find the would be thief on the ground being; held down by a helpful citizen, cuffed by a police officer and me holding a gun. After all was said and done, the store manager did not press charges and I became a demigod amongst my peers.
