I didn't get the chance to do this in middle school, so I opted to not take music in high school. Needless to say, I've been kicking myself ever since (I play things, but badly, and I can't read music). The early development of interest in these sorts of things is infinitely more important than some of the stupid shit that they (the man) have been assigning profound meaning to for years now.
Long division and most phys-ed activities spring readily to mind.
