Dan, I feel as though your point is that is unrealistic to think people in general possess the motivation to examine the truth behind political rhetoric. If that's all you're saying then I don't know how else to respond except...um, thanks for agreeing with me?

Of course it is idealistic. The point is that ideals only remain as merely ideals until they are followed through with the force of conviction. I've faith in an emerging societal political consciousness - i simply have no idea when it's going to hit the mainstream with earnest.
